The Univ. of Limerick Vikings won their 3rd game of the season with a close 12-0 victory over the Dublin Dragons. A new look Dublin Dragons team, playing a new style of offence as well as having new uniforms, played well and kept in the game right until the final minutes. Both defenses dominated in difficult wet field conditions in a game which saw both teams suffering from turnovers. The Vikings got the only offensive score of the game when running back Andrew Gordan broke free on a 60 yard run to score his third touchdown of the season towards the end of the first quarter.

Both the second and third quarters were controlled by the defenses. The Vikings defense, including defensive end Kieran Stack, linebacker Glen Carr and safety Liam Ryan played well as did the Dragons defense which included Lez Connolly. The Dragons new look running orientated offense, though, managed to pick up some yardage through running backs Diarmuid Noyes and Dave Wheeler. Gordan and quarterback Jeremiah Sexton picked up some yardage for the Vikings. The game was not decided until the end of the fourth quarter when Vikings linebacker Glen Carr stripped the ball from a Dragon ball carrier and returned it 41 yards to the endzone to give the Vikings a 12-0 victory.
