2006
IAFL SCHEDULE RELEASED
The
2006 Irish American Football League season
will commence on March 12th when Shamrock
Bowl runners-up, Belfast Bulls visit the
University of Limerick Vikings. The IAFL
regular season will be played over 17 weekends
between this date and July 23rd. There will
be two competitive fixtures most weekends,
though weeks 6 and 8 will feature 3 games.
The IAFL expands to eight teams in 2006
with the six teams who contested the 2005
season being joined by two newcomers - Dublin
City University Saints and North Dublin
Marshals. Each team will play eight regular
season games with the top four teams qualifying
for the semi-finals. Shamrock Bowl XX (the
National Championship) will take place August.
Some IAFL teams are in the process of obtaining
improved home grounds for this season -
details will be released soon.
