Venue & Directions

Shamrock Bowl will be held in Cork and is the first major national event being held at the new 1200 seated CIT Stadium. Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe, unveiled a new impressive sports centre at the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT). The Minister was in his native Cork on Monday 26th of May to officially open the new centre. The development cost CIT €3 million to build. The opening of the new sports centre adds another dimension to the impressive sports facilities on the CIT campus. The ambitious development includes a new 1,200 seat fully-covered stadium that houses a two-tier gymnasium, meeting room, doctor’s room and six dressing rooms. The impressive new stand and dressing rooms complement the GAA pitches, soccer pitches and rugby pitch, some of which are fully floodlit. The new stadium is all part of an overall programme to provide CIT with first class sporting facilities. With 39 different clubs to choose from and top class sports facilities such as this new stand, 9 grass pitches, an astro-turf pitch, tennis court, international standard athletic track, sportshall, gym & weights room the students that attend.
