2005
IAFL SCHEDULE RELEASED
11TH
JANUARY 2005
The
2005 IAFL Schedule is now available. The
6 league playing teams have all returned
for another year and will be hoping to make
it to Shamrock Bowl XIX which will take
place on Sunday 28th August. As with last
season, each team will play a total of 8
league games and the top 4 teams will go
through to the semi-finals. However, there
are two structural changes in the schedule.
Firstly, there is a 3 week break in May
to accommodate the Celtic Classic game between
Ireland (IAFL Allstars) and Adrian College,
Michigan. Secondly, at the request of the
team managers and coaches, a bye week has
been introduced between the final regular
season game and the semi-finals.
This
year, the Dublin Rebels are hoping to start
a tradition whereby the Shamrock Bowl Champions
will kick-off the new IAFL season. Therefore,
this years first fixture will be Dublin
Rebels @ UL Vikings on Sunday February 20th.
The regular season will finish on Sunday
31st July and the semi-finals will be on
Sunday 14th August. All teams are playing
in the same venues they used in 2004. With
the exception of the July 23rd double header
at Greystones, all games before Easter will
kick-off at 1pm and all games after Easter
will kick-off at 2pm.
