Craigavon Cowboys 42 Cork Admirals 19

The Craigavon Cowboys traveled to Cork to play the Cork Admirals in their third IAFL game of the season. This was a crucial game for the Cowboys as they have lost their opening two games and need to get some league points if they have any hope of making the play-offs at the end of the regular season.

West Dublin Rhinos @ Carrickfergus Knights
The game of the week would have to be the clash between the West Dublin Rhinos (1-2)  and the   Carrickfergus Knights(3-1).  The Knights appear to have set themselves up for a home semi-final following last week’s win over the IAFL Champion Dublin Rebels team.  The Rhino’s record does not tell the whole story of their season so far.  A 5 point heart breaker at Trinity in week seven is the difference between a winning and losing record.  The Rhino’s have a big well drilled and motivated squad.  They have good balance across their offence with [...]

Rhinos overcome Cork Admirals, win 6-0.

A relentlessy sunny day in Castleknock College played host to the West Dublin Rhinos home season opener versus the Cork Admirals. These two sides last met in the 2010 IAFL playoffs when the Rhinos travelled to Cork and pulled out an upset victory in a game separated by just one score. This time Cork were on the road but they had their eyes set on revenge.

West Dublin Rhinos win Wildcard game.

The West Dublin Rhinos won the Wildcard game with a close 8-6 victory against the Cork Admirals at CIT Stadium. The Rhinos took a early 6-0 lead, which they extended when the Admirals conceeded a safety. The Admirals scored a TD with 1 minute remaining in regulation, but failed to score on a 2pt conversion attempt which would have sent the game into overtime. The Rhinos will now play the Dublin Rebels in the Shamrock Bowl semi-final on July 25th. Full report to follow.
