Vetting

IAFA participates in the Federation of Irish Sport Garda Vetting Scheme.

To submit your vetting application complete both of the two forms (FIS Vetting Invitation & FIS Vetting Services) found below, make the relevant payment through the IAFA Membership portal here under “Events & Courses”.

Hard copies of both completed and signed forms, copies of the relevant ID documents (details of which are found on the FIS-Vetting-Invitation form) along with the payment receipt should be returned to the IAFA Garda Vetting Officer by post to the following address:

All IAFA members residing in Northern Ireland that have direct and prolonged contact with children (i.e. under 18 years of age) must be Access NI vetted. This primarily applies to coaches involved in Flag Football and/or Youth Kitted teams.

Note: Officials do not need to be AccessNI vetted.

Those that need to be AccessNI vetted must apply for an enhanced disclosure – all other disclosures will be considered insufficient. Applications can be made through an open umbrella body. A list of all open umbrella bodies can be found here:

AccessNI Open Umbrella Bodies

A copy of the AccessNI disclosure certificate must be forwarded to the IAFA Vetting Officer when issued. This can be scanned and emailed to the IAFA Vetting Officer at vetting@americanfootball.ie or posted to the following address:
