AFI / #ShareTheKnowledgeUK – March Double-Header Clinic

American Football Ireland are delighted to be partnered with #ShareTheKnowledgeUK to bring to our members another online clinic, this time a double-header delivered by Coach JB Wells and Coach Voyt Andrzejczak that will focus on both sides of the trenches at the line of scrimmage. The clinic will take place via Zoom on Friday March 25th @ 8pm GMT. Coach Wells will deliver a session on O-Line Fundamentals and Base Blocks, while Coach Andrzejczak will deliver one on Pass Rushing Technique.

Coach Wells began his career as the tight ends coach at Brown University in 1991. He then returned to his alma mater as a graduate assistant coaching the offensive line at Trinity College from 1992-1993 before serving as offensive line and strength coach at Bates College from 1994-1995. He then moved on to the University of Chicago where he coached the running backs in 1996 and the quarterbacks in 1997. He returned to Trinity College for one year (1998) before being named Assistant Head Coach and offensive coordinator at Illinois Wesleyan University from 1999-2001. Wells helped the Titans to the first back-to-back College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships since 1964-65. Wells was then named Head Coach at Endicott, the first coach in the program’s history, on November 29, 2001.   

He was named the first football coach in the history of Endicott College in 2002 and established the program which began intercollegiate play in 2003. He quickly developed the Gulls into one of the top teams in the region, leading his team to a pair of New England Football Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2010 and 2013 and consecutive ECAC North Bowl victories in 2011 and 2012.  He then moved on to Bowdoin College and led the Polar Bears as head coach from 2015-2019.  Coach Wells currently serves as the head football coach at the Kingswood Oxford School, an independent prep school in West Hartford, Connecticut.

On the field, Wells has helped develop nine All-Americans and over 100 NEFC All-Conference winners. Coach Wells has been honored as the 2010 Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Division II/III Coach of the Year, the 2010 New England Football Writers Division II/III Coach of the Year and the 2013 New England Football Conference Coach of the Year.

Off the gridiron, Wells’ teams have produced over 200 NEFC Academic All-Conference honorees and four Capital One Academic All-Americans. He also had two of his players move onto the NFL, with Kevin Eagan signing a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts and Taylor Allen being invited to rookie camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Wells received a B.A. in History from Trinity College in 1991, and a M.Ed. from Endicott College in 2005. At Trinity, Wells was a three-year starter and letter winner at guard and center as well as being an outstanding shot putter and discus thrower on the indoor and outdoor track teams. He earned the college’s prestigious Blanket Award in Athletics, presented to athletes who earn 10 or more varsity letters during their four years. At the time, only 38 blankets had been awarded in the history of the College.

 

Coach Wojciech “Voyt” Andrzejczak enters his first season as the Defensive Coordinator for the Bienna Jets in Switzerland, earlier in 2021 he was a remote  Football Analyst for Akron Zips Football, Division1,  FBS. From January to October 2021, he was  Defensive Coordinator for Triangle Razorbacks in Denmark, where he helped the team reach the National League Semi-Final and build a solid defensive unit that forced 10 Sacks, 6 INT, 26 PBUs in 7 games. He spent the 2020 fall season as the defensive coordinator of the Wieliczka Dragons in Poland, prior to lockdown he was with the Calanda Broncos in Switzerland, where he worked with both varsity and U19 teams. He spent the 2019 season as assistant defensive line coach / defensive QC at Towson University, helped improve Tigers defense by 5.3 points allowed and +5 turnovers margin. Prior to that  Coach Andrzejczak was part of the coach’s education program in China and coached youth football .   

In 2015 Coach Andrzejczak worked for the US National Football Team and USA Football Heads Up Protection Tour.  In the summer of that year, he coached at Clifton Mustangs HS NJ and Junior Mustangs U-14 team . Coach Andrzejczak has been a member of  the AFCA since 2013, his article “Polish your Kicking Game” was published in the AFCA Summer Manual 2014. He was a speaker at the 94th   AFCA Convention in Nashville .  He also published articles for American Football Monthly, USA Football and American Football International. From 2012 to spring 2014 he was the head coach at Leszno Hunters, building the program that  won  the PLFA 8Men Football West division in its first season and finished sixth in the nation .

Coach  Voyt Andrzejczak  has been involved in developing football in Central and Eastern Europe  since 2005, through coaching education. He  was  described as one of the “Founding Fathers “ of American Football in Poland. He finished courses, “The Science of Training Young Athletes” at University of Florida, “Sports and Society” at Duke University, “The Global Business of  Sports” at University of Pennsylvania, he is a graduate from the Poznan University of Economics.
