The IAFL regular season came to a close on Sunday 4th July with 2009 finalists, the Dublin Rebels claiming the number 1 seed with a perfect 8-0 record. The Rebels finished the season with the top ranked offense and defense averaging 42.3 and 5.5 points per game respectively. As the number 1 seed, the Rebels will play the winners of the Wildcard game in the Semi-Finals, which will take place on Sunday 25th July.

IAFL South winners and recent EFAF Atlantic Cup winners, UL Vikings, will be the home team in the other semi-final after claiming the number 2 seed with a 6-1-1 record. They will host number 3 seed – IAFL North winners – Carrickfergus Knights in Limerick on the 25th July.

The Wildcard game will be hosted by the Cork Admirals who claimed the number four seed with a 5-2-1 record. They will play the West Dublin Rhinos on 18th July. This is the Rhinos first ever appearance in the play-offs. They finished with a 4-2-2 record, edging out the Cowboys on head to head record.
