Coach Developer
The Irish American Football Association (IAFA) is seeking applications for the role of Coach Developer. IAFA is the National Governing Body for American Football in Ireland and is recognised as such by Sport Ireland and the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). At present IAFA is a volunteer-run organisation and there are over 3,000 active members involved in the sport at various levels. This is a volunteer position.
Responsibilities
The Coach Developer will be responsible for the design, delivery and review of coach education programs and the ongoing mentoring of IAFA registered coaches. The Coach Developer will attend training provided by Sport Ireland Coaching consisting of 5 weekends, beginning in October 2018. Attendance at this course will be sponsored by the IAFA.
Candidate Profile
Coach developers are able to synthesize the input of more experienced coaches and experts, assess coaches and encourage them to take responsibility for their ongoing development. They role-model best practice, portraying a growth mindset, critical reflective skills and a hunger for personal improvement. Coach developers are able to help coaches to become ‘learning coaches’ by teaching them how to learn and reflect. This role will require travel throughout Ireland and access to your own vehicle will be necessary.
Skills

• Experience in Coaching environment

Terms of Appointment
• Attendance at Coaching Team meetings
• Reimbursement of travel expenses based on IAFA mileage rates or vouched receipts
• Equipment and consumables to perform the functions of the role subject to budgetary constraints
• Sponsored attendance at the Sport Ireland Coaching Developer course
• Must be available to attend course in University of Limerick on the following dates
o October 6th/7th 2018 (UL)
o November 3rd/4th 2018 (UL)
o December 1st/2nd 2018 (UL)
o January 5th/6th 2019 (UL)
o February 2nd/3rd 2019 (UL)
